Jasprit Bumrah Recalls Being Called Up By The Mumbai Indians In 2013. In an interview with Ravichandran Ashwin on YouTube, Jasprit Bumrah discussed his call-up to the Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2013 and revealed that he had bowled out Ricky Ponting “two or three times.”

Ponting captaining the MI team when Bumrah called up. In 2013, Rohit Sharma took over as MI captain, succeeding Ponting.

“Essentially, I had gone into the Mumbai Indians camp and was not going to play in the first game because Axar Patel and I had arrive late. We were competing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the time. We had been summon to the camp late ” he explain.

“The team was already practicing in Bangalore, and we only had two days with them. Back in 2013, the practice wickets were very green, and the white ball use to swing. So I was bowling with a brand-new ball. I used to bowl those big inswingers to Ricky Ponting when I was bowling to him.
