Dasun Shanaka will captain the team, with Charith Asalanka promoted to vice-captain after some strong performances across formats over the last year. The series will begin on February 5th and will conclude on February 20th with the fifth and final T20I game.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan cricket board lifted the one-year bans on Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, and Niroshan Dickwella two weeks ago.

Ben McDermott received his reward for a fantastic season with the bat for the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL 2021-22. While the trio of Hazlewood, Starc, and Cummins will return. The Sri Lankan team has been playing well recently and should pose a much greater challenge to the Australian team than in previous series.
