The all-rounder batted unbeaten for 95 runs off 46 balls, hitting five fours and eight sixes. Dube’s blistering knock helped Chennai post 216 for four in 20 overs, eclipsing the 217-run target. Dube’s power-hitting abilities were on full display in the final over, when he smashed a 102-metre six. Dube effortlessly skied it over long-on for a massive maximum after receiving a poor delivery from Josh Hazlewood in the first delivery of the 20th over!

Aside from Dube’s knock, Robin Uthappa also came close to a century for CSK, slamming 88 runs off 50 balls. In addition, the veteran opener hit four fours and nine sixes.

CSK paid Rs 4 crore for Dube at the mega auction ahead of the current season, with a base price of Rs 50 lakhs. He played for RR last season after signing for Rs 4.40 crore.

Dube has proven to be an important cog in the CSK unit this season. He has scored 511 runs and taken four wickets in 28 IPL matches.
