Sachin Tendulkar Evaluates India’s World Cup Prospects Under Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid

Sachin Tendulkar Evaluates India’s World Cup Prospects Under Rohit Sharma-Rahul Dravid. With Australia set to host the next T20 World Cup later this year, legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar stated that he would love to see his country win another World Cup.

Virat Kohli’s tenure as India’s T20I captain ended on a low note when the team was eliminated in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup last year. Kohli stated before the tournament in the UAE last year that he would relinquish the T20I captaincy once the T20 World Cup concluded. With Kohli stepping down, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named Rohit Sharma as full-time white-ball captain while announcing India’s squad for the recently concluded tour of South Africa.

With Australia set to host the next T20 World Cup later this year, legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar stated that he would love to see his country win another World Cup.

“We will be 11 years old in April of this year (of World Cup win). That’s a long time to wait. Everyone, including myself, would like to see that trophy in the BCCI’s trophy cabinet. This is the only trophy for which all cricketers compete. It doesn’t get any bigger than that… in any format, short or long. World Cup is something special, in my opinion “Tendulkar stated this on the YouTube show ‘Backstage with Boria.’

Tendulkar praised Rohit and head coach Rahul Dravid, calling them a “fantastic pair” and saying that both stalwarts have played enough cricket to overcome all “ups and downs.”

“Rohit and Rahul make an excellent couple. I know the guys would give it their all and prepare to the best of their abilities. You have a lot of people rooting for you. It’s all about having the right support at the right time. Of course, everyone has had enough cricket. Rahul has played enough cricket to understand that there will be ups and downs along the way. The only thing to do is not give up hope. Keep trying, and we’ll keep moving forward “he added

India will face Pakistan in their first T20 World Cup match later this year, which will be a rematch of last year’s Super 12 stage match.

Pakistan had won the game by a ten-wicket margin, and India will look to make amends when the two teams meet again on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
