New Zealand has unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Which will be held in Australia from October to November. The announcement of the jersey reveal was made on social media by New Zealand Cricket. It was accomplish through a photoshoot with prominent Kiwi players such as Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Martin Guptill, Lockie Ferguson, Trent Boult, and others. “Our shirt for the @t20worldcup in Australia has arrived #T20WorldCup #CricketNation #Cricket,” BlackCapsNZ also posted on Instagram.

The shirt design is a retro mash-up of shirts worn by the side in the early 1990s. It has a fresh new look that combines Kiwi black with heritage grey. Grey was a popular color in New Zealand jerseys in the 1990s.

The shirt also abandons fern as a key graphic in favor of the Southern Cross as a nod to New Zealand.

On September 20, New Zealand announced their squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022, with opener Martin Guptill set to make a record seventh appearance.

On Saturday, October 22, the Kiwis will open their T20 World Cup campaign against Australia at the SCG, before facing Afghanistan (MCG), England (Gabba), and two qualifiers at the SCG and Adelaide Oval, respectively. In the Super 12, they are all in Group 1.

New Zealand finished second in the 2021 tournament, losing to Australia in the final.
