Cheteshwar Pujara scores a century in the Royal London One-Day Cup. Pujara, who is leading Sussex, went on to score 107 runs off 79 balls, hitting seven fours and two sixes.

Cheteshwar Pujara, a right-handed batter, has been in excellent form for Sussex this season, scoring five centuries in the County Championship Division 2. This the main reason Pujara was chosen to captain the team when regular skipper Tom Haines injure. Now, the batter has maintained his form, most recently scoring a century for the side against Warwickshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup on Friday in Group A.

Sussex were chasing 311 when Pujara walk into bat with the score at 112/2 in the 22nd over. In addition, Pujara, who is leading Sussex, went on to score 107 runs off 79 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. His innings also included 22 runs off the 45th over bowled by Liam Norwell.

Pujara then went on to score his century in the 48th over of the innings, and his innings ended in the 49th over when he was clean bowled by Hannon-Dalby.

Pujara’s knock, however, was not enough to get Sussex over the line, as they fell four runs short at Edgbaston.

Earlier, Warwickshire batted first and posted 310/6 in 50 overs, thanks to a 114-run knock from Robert Yates.

Alistair Orr contributed 81 runs for Sussex, but it was not enough to get the team over the line.

Sussex also currently sixth in Group A, with four points from four games.
