The Lucknow Super Giants’ journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 came to an end after a 14-run defeat in the Eliminator to Royal Challengers Bangalore. While several current and former cricketers criticized their batting strategy, LSG were also sloppy on the field, dropping too many catches. Rajat Patidar, who stole the show with a 54-ball 112*, was eliminated three times. LSG skipper KL Rahul was in the spotlight after dropping Patidar and Dinesh Karthik, who also scored 37 off 23 balls.
Karthik mistimed his pull off Mohsin Khan’s delivery during the 15th over of RCB’s innings, and ended up hitting it wide mid-off. Rahul, who ran a lot to his left, got both hands on it, but the ball popped out at the last second.

Patidar and Karthik capitalized on missed opportunities to add an unbeaten 92 runs for the fifth wicket.
Despite KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda’s knocks of 79 and 45, respectively, LSG were restricted to a total of 193 for six in pursuit of a target of 208.
RCB will now face Rajasthan Royals in Friday’s Qualifier 2. The winner of that match will face Gujarat Titans in the final, who defeated RR in Qualifier 1.
