Almost a month after the PSL 2022 was a smashing success. PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja propose an auction model to replace the current draft system beginning next year. When ask about his long-term vision, Raja state unequivocally that it was not only to compete with its India franchise T20 cricket league rival IPL, but to outperform the marquee tournament.
Meanwhile, Aakash Chopra, a former India Test opener, has come forward to explain why the Indian Premier League will continue to be the best T20 league in the world. Furthermore, he state that a player will never be seen playing in the PSL for a whopping 16 crore because market dynamics will not allow it to happen.

Chopra responds to Raja: questions whether it is even possible to compete or compare oneself to the IPL.
“Even if you do an auction instead of drafts, you will not see a player playing for 16 crores in the PSL.” It cannot happen, market dynamics will not allow it to happen. It’s as simple as that,” Chopra stated on his official YouTube channel.
Aakash Chopra went on to say that Chris Morris. The most expensive player in the 2021 auction, was worth more than his one ball because of his lucrative IPL contract.
“To be honest, Chris Morris’ one ball last time he play more expensive than the players’ salaries in other leagues.” Is it even possible to compete or compare yourself to the IPL. Regardless of whether it is the PSL, BBL, The Hundred, or the CPL? “Is it a slightly erroneous assessment?” he stated.

Talking about the success of PSL 2022. It’s profit jump to 71 percent which is the most in history of the competition since its inception in 2016. The IPL 2022 will begin on March 26 with last year’s finalists Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders clashing at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. In the two-month tournament, 70 matches will be play across four venues in Maharashtra, with all ten teams divided into two groups.
