The Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction is scheduled for December 23 in Kochi. The incumbent champions are Gujarat Titans, who defeat former IPL winners Rajasthan Royals (2008) to claim the coveted trophy. All organizations have already begun brainstorming strategies and must have identified certain individuals to seek at the auction to improve their squads ahead of the new season.
In terms of the auction, as many as 991 people registered for it at the start. Only 405 would go under the hammer. The contest on Friday will include 131 bowlers, 61 hitters, 155 all-rounders, and 58 wicket keepers.

The player auction will take place on Friday at 2:30 PM IST at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kochi.
The combined purse of all franchisees participating in the mini-auction is INR 206.50 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) enter with the largest purse of INR 42.25 crore, while Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have the smallest purse of INR 7.05 crore at the auction.
