Varun Chakravarthy dedicated his match-winning performance for KKR against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to his new-born kid and wife. Notably, KKR won the IPL 2023 after four consecutive losses on Wednesday, April 26 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, defeating the hosts by 21 runs.

KKR achieved a competitive total of 200 runs thanks to a strong first innings effort

An emotional Varun credited his match-winning effort to his new-born kid and wife after the amazing triumph.

“That’s how cricket is played. I got this accolade today after going for 49 vs CSK. My priority is accuracy, not adding variety. I’ve been quite busy. I’d want to dedicate this to my new son and wife. “I’ll see him after the IPL,” Varun said in the post-match presentation as he accepted the Player of the Match award.

The Karnataka-born spinner is having a fantastic season with KKR, having taken 13 wickets in eight matches thus far. His greatest performance of the season came against RCB on April 6 at Eden Gardens, when he returned a four-wicket haul for 15 runs in 3.4 overs.

Meanwhile, KKR sit sixth in the points table with three wins and will be eager to maintain their pace. On Saturday, April 29, Nitish Rana and company will face the reigning champions Gujarat Titans at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
