Thats a critical juncture in the game since Pakistan was breathing down England’s neck with their speed attack. Shaheen’s absence meant that skipper Babar Azam had to employ a spinner instead of him. Which completely shifted the game in England’s favor.

Shaheen always a concern even before he enter the competition since he had a knee ailment and returning from knee surgery. He was out of action for a short time after missing the Asia Cup 2022 and a critical series (seven-match T20I series) against England at home building up to the T20 World Cup.

With the new edition of the Pakistan Super League just around the horizon, the pacer is on the mend and was spotted bowling in the nets a few days ago.
