It was a heartbreaking loss in the end for Delhi Capitals. Who had only themselves to blame for failing to make the IPL 2022 playoffs. It all started when their top order failed to get off to a strong start against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday, resulting in a 159-run total. Their bowlers, however, brought them back into the game. The match reached a turning point in the 15th over of Mumbai’s innings. When Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant decided not to appeal the decision of the on-field umpire.

Tim David of the Mumbai Indians appeared to have edged the first delivery he faced from Shardul Thakur. However, the on-field umpire did not award it. With two reviews already under their belts, everyone expected Pant to win the DRS because he was the one who had appealed the most vehemently from behind the stumps.

Pant, however, decided against it after a brief discussion with the bowler and his teammates.
