Rishabh Pant Explains Why He Didn’t Play DRS Against Tim David In The DC vs MI IPL 2022 Match. After the game, a dejected Rishabh Pant explained why he did not go for the review.
It was a heartbreaking loss in the end for Delhi Capitals. Who had only themselves to blame for failing to make the IPL 2022 playoffs. It all started when their top order failed to get off to a strong start against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday, resulting in a 159-run total. Their bowlers, however, brought them back into the game. The match reached a turning point in the 15th over of Mumbai’s innings. When Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant decided not to appeal the decision of the on-field umpire.
Tim David of the Mumbai Indians appeared to have edged the first delivery he faced from Shardul Thakur. However, the on-field umpire did not award it. With two reviews already under their belts, everyone expected Pant to win the DRS because he was the one who had appealed the most vehemently from behind the stumps.
Pant, however, decided against it after a brief discussion with the bowler and his teammates.
Rishabh Pant Explains Why He Didn’t Play DRS
Pant realized he’d made a big mistake when the replays revealed a spike on UltraEdge.
David scored 34 crucial runs in almost no time to set up Mumbai’s 5-wicket victory, which eliminated Delhi from the tournament.
After the match, a dejected Pant explained why he did not request a review.
“I thought there was something, but everyone in the circle wasn’t convinced enough, so I kept asking them’should we go up,’ and in the end, I didn’t take the review,” Pant explained.
The Delhi Capitals have never won the IPL, but they have made the playoffs in each of the previous three seasons. That will not be the case this time.
