Mickey Arthur has been appointed as the new Director of Men’s Cricket in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected Mickey Arthur. former head coach, as the new Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team. The South African coach rejoins the team just in time for the Asia Cup 2023 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

Arthur’s new responsibilities would include devising, implementing, and supervising the strategies utilized by the Pakistan men’s squad. The 54-year-old will also serve as a coach for the India 50-over World Cup, as well as the home series against the West Indies and the visit to Australia. He will also be with the Pakistan team when they compete in the Asia Cup.

“I am absolutely thrill to be rejoining the Pakistan cricket team and look forward to working with the group. Since moving on, I have kept a track of the players and their collective performances,” Arthur said.

“This is a talented bunch with the potential to be number one across all formats. My endeavor is to put in place strategies and create an environment that can contribute to further enhancing their performances so that we can extract the best out of them. ” He continued.

PCB chairman Najam Sethi also welcomed Arthur back into the coaching structure. Expressing his delight that Arthur had returned to the Pakistan men’s cricket squad in a more prominent role. He believes that the South African will apply the lessons he gained during his first term. Have an even more successful second term.
