Hardik Pandya Responds to Criticism Regarding the T20 World Cup 2021.

Hardik Pandya faced a barrage of criticism following Team India’s early exit from the T20 World Cup last year. Many fans and experts believed that the all-rounder was not fully fit, which prevented him from bowling in the opener against Pakistan.

The 28-year-old has been out with a back injury for quite some time, forcing him to play as a batter for the majority of 2021. He also batted solely for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the IPL 2021, but he did bowl for India in two T20 World Cup matches, against Afghanistan and New Zealand.

After finishing third in their group behind Pakistan and New Zealand, India failed to advance to the Super League stage. “I was getting the impression or vibe that a lot of things were coming at me at the same time. Obviously, that is fine, but I play the sport, so I understand” he explained.

“I didn’t bowl, but I was chosen as a batter for the team. Also I worked hard to bowl in the first game, but I was obviously unable to do so. I worked hard for my team, but as you mentioned, setbacks occurred.”

He gave up 40 runs and did not take a wicket against Afghanistan or New Zealand.

With the 2022 T20 World Cup set to take place in Australia in October and November, Pandya will be looking to put in a strong performance for new franchise Ahmedabad, which he also captains.”

“I genuinely don’t want to rush anything and make sure I’m at my peak when the World Cup arrives because, as I’ve stated numerous times, winning the World Cup will be the most important thing in my life “, he explained.

“My strategy and preparation are all focused on the World Cup. It’s all in the name of the Indian team “, he went on to say.
