India will be handling its greatest ever contingent to Paralympic Games. A total of 54 para-athletes from over nine sports. Disciplines will participate at the Games. The plans is to be held from August 24 till September 5.
Virat Kohli posted on Twitter
“Sending my best wishes and support to the Flag of India contingent at the Tokyo Paralympics,” Virat Kohli wrote on Twitter.
“I am cheering for each one of you and I am sure you will make us proud.”
Thangavelu Mariyappan is the Rio 2016 Gold Medal winner. He will be the flag bearer of India in the opening ceremony of the event. The start of the Games ceremony was on Tuesday.
Devendra Jhajharia
The star javelin thrower Devendra Jhajharia. Also, high jumper Mariyappan Thangavelu. He was both 2016 Rio Paralympics gold champs. They will lead the greatest ever contingent with India anticipating. At least 15 medals, including five gold.
India is competing in nine sports within the Paralympics. Which is being held under strict security and health protocols. Also, due to the Covid-19 pandemic has driven few nations to pull out.
Lastly, the desire for exceptional victory would not be wide of the mark. Whereas six are at the number two and around 10 at number three in global standings.
