IPL 2022: Rohit Sharma reacts after Mumbai Indians suffer their sixth consecutive defeat. Sharma stated on Saturday that he accepts full responsibility for his team’s poor performance this season.
A distraught Rohit Sharma accepted “full responsibility” for the Mumbai Indians’ poor IPL season after they lost their sixth consecutive match, saying he is at a loss as to what course correction is required to get them back on track. Skipper Rohit has had a nightmare tournament, scoring only 114 runs in six games with a best score of 41.

When asked why he didn’t start the team’s No. 1 bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, the skipper defended his decision.
“There’s no particular reason to it,” Rohit replied when asked why he brought Bumrah in the fourth over.
“We try and put team before the individual (Bumrah). They (LSG) bat quite deep and it is important to hold your key bowlers towards the back end. We always try and keep Bumrah for the back end and it didn’t seem to work out,” he reasoned.

“We’ve now lost six games in a row, and we’re still trying to figure out what our best lineup is, but it all depends on who we play. When you lose a game, it’s easy to say that changes are being made, but we try to stick with our best XI.” He praised opposite number and team India deputy KL Rahul for a strong batting performance that has effectively eliminated Mumbai Indians from the IPL.
