He won the Purple Cap this year after taking 27 wickets in 17 games, and he was an important member of the Rajasthan Royals team that reached the final.

Chahal last appeared in an ODI against the West Indies, where he claimed seven wickets.

The leg-spinner will next be seen in action in the Asia Cup, which begins on August 27. India will play Pakistan in their first match on August 28 in Dubai.
