Women’s World Cup 2022: Points table following the match between New Zealand and India. New Zealand has won their second game in the ongoing Women’s World Cup. Their victory came against the 2017 runners-up, India, at Hamilton’s Seddon Park. As a result of the victory, New Zealand has risen to second place on the points table.

After being put in to bat by India, New Zealand rode half-centuries from Amy Satterthwaite and Amelia Kerr to post a total of 260-9 at the end of their 50 overs. Satterthwaite scored 75 off 84 balls, while Kerr scored 50 off 64 balls. Pooja Vastrakar had a match total of 4/34 for India.

The Indian openers got off to a slow start in their attempt to chase down the score. Their star opener, Smriti Mandhana, was knocked out early in the innings, and the team never really got going in the chase. Harmanpreet Kaur scored 71 off 63 balls and was India’s only bright spot with the bat before the team was dismissed for 198, losing the game by 62 runs.

ICC Women’s World Cup 2022: Points table India slip to 5th

India has dropped down the points table after their loss and now sits in fifth place with two points. With two wins in two games, Australia sits comfortably atop the table with four points. New Zealand, the West Indies, and South Africa trail them with two, two, and one wins, respectively. England, Bangladesh, and Pakistan are sixth, seventh, and eighth on the points table, having all lost their first two games of the tournament.

Pakistan will play South Africa in Mount Maunganui on March 11th in the tournament’s next game. India will play the West Indies on March 12th, while New Zealand will play Australia in Wellington on March 13th.
