The ICC must devote more resources to ensuring the survival of ODI and Test cricket, according to Kapil Dev. Trent Boult recently requested that NZC release him from his central contract so that he could play in T20 leagues and spend time with his family.
Former Indian World Cup captain Kapil Dev believes the ICC should investigate the ODI format’s declining stature. The retirement of Ben Stokes from ODI cricket to concentrate on T20Is and Tests has raised concerns among experts about international scheduling. The boards have preferred a lot of bilateral T20I series and Tests, while the number of ODIs has decreased significantly.

Dev mentioned that the ICC must take care of the management aspect and that he is concerned that the game will take a different path than football, where countries haven’t played frequently against each other. He also stated that the ICC must ensure the survival of the ODI and Test formats, and that the increased number of leagues may significantly impede international scheduling.
