Suresh Raina names four potential successors to MS Dhoni as CSK captain.

Suresh Raina names four potential successors to MS Dhoni as CSK captain. MS Dhoni, affectionately known as ‘Thala,’ has led CSK since the inception of the IPL.

Except for MS Dhoni, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have never had a full-time manager. Dhoni, affectionately known as ‘Thala.’ has led the team since its inception and has appeared in 213 matches as the captain. CSK, which has four IPL titles to its name, has made the playoffs in 12 of the 13 seasons it has played in, and has reached the finals nine times.

Suresh Raina, also known as Chinna Thala, has been Dhoni’s ‘Mr. Dependable’ throughout his career. Raina, who was not select by a franchise this year, will be seen this season accompanying the Hindi commentators. Raina has been a member of the Yellow Army since its inception. So she knows everything there is to know about the skipper, the team, its management, and its decision-making style.

When ask who can replace Dhoni as captain in a webinar host by Star Sports, he said: “Rayudu is there, Robin Uthappa is there, and DJ Bravo is there.” Jadeja, I believe, has a good cricketing brain and has recently perform well.”

Ravindra Jadeja is the favorite to be the next CSK captain.

Ravindra Jadeja appears to be the front-runner for the position among the four names list by Raina, and the age factor plays a significant role in this case. Both Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu are 36 years old, while Bravo, the Caribbean all-rounder, is 38. Jadeja, the youngest of them all at 33, appears to be the ideal fit, as he will continue to play for the franchise for the next four to five years. Notably, Jadeja is also the highest-paid player in the franchise, having sign for a fee of INR 16 crore.

When ask about the team’s expectations for the upcoming IPL season, Raina state that CSK need to get off to a strong start. He believes CSK knows how to get to the playoffs and has the necessary experience, but the dew factor at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and the MCA International Stadium in Pune will be something to consider when strategizing.

“I am prepare for this,” he said of his debut as a commentator. Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, and Piyush Chawla, three of my friends, are already doing commentary. Then we’ll have Ravi Bhai (Shastri) in this season as well. So I believe it will be simple for me. I can take tips from my friends. “I am overjoy and excited to take on this role.”
