Ravindra Jadeja, as a batting all-rounder, needs to improve:  Sanjay Manjrekar

Ravindra Jadeja, as a batting all-rounder, needs to improve:  Sanjay Manjrekar. “Ravindra Jadeja is well aware that stiff competition is on the way. So it is now up to Jadeja to persuade the selectors “Manjrekar stated.

Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar claims that all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja will have to prove to Indian team management that he can get the job done ahead of Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik.

Jadeja one of the most consistent red-ball cricketers in the world. He has improved dramatically in the shorter formats over the last 3-4 years. The southpaw has developed into a reliable lower-order batter for the Indians, scoring several important runs in crucial situations.

However, the all-rounder has not been effective with the ball in hand and is currently serving as a batting all-rounder in the shortest format of the game. Manjrekar stated that with the re-emergence of Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik. The veteran all-place rounder’s in the team is no longer guaranteed.

“If he is going to be a batting all-rounder, he has to show that he is an adequate replacement for someone like Dinesh Karthik, who is likely to bat at No. 6 or No. 7, or somebody like Hardik Pandya at No. 6,” Manjrekar told Sports 18.

Ravindra Jadeja must persuade the team’s management:  Sanjay Manjrekar

The Indian team will almost certainly go with Yuzvendra Chahal as their primary spinner. While Ravindra Jadeja’s position as the team’s second spinner is under threat from Axar Patel. Who demonstrated his explosive batting skills in the recently concluded series against the West Indies. Manjrekar believes Jadeja need to demonstrate his bowling abilities if he is to be select ahead of Axar.

“Ravindra Jadeja is well aware of the impending competition.” So it’s now up to Jadeja to persuade the selectors whether he wants to be a bowling all-rounder or a batting all-rounder. His position on the team will be determine based on this. If he is to compete as a bowling all-rounder, he must persuade team management that he is superior to Axar Patel as a second spinning option,” Manjrekar added.
