After collecting eight wickets against Australia in the Nagpur Test, Ravichandran Ashwin has risen to second in the current ICC Men’s Test Bowler Rankings. He is closing up on Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia’s red-ball side, who is only 21 points ahead. Ravindra Jadeja, who name Player of the Match in the first Test, climbed the bowler ranks in the most recent ICC rankings.

Ashwin, who currently has 846 points, has above James Anderson and Stuart Broad in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and might replace Cummins if he continues to dominate in the remaining Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023. Apart from Ashwin, only Jasprit Bumrah, ranked fifth, is among the top ten bowlers in the rankings.

Meanwhile, Jadeja name Player of the Match after an outstanding effort with both bat and ball. In the first innings, he grabbed five wickets, including important ones for Steven Smith and Marnus Labuschagne. With a 70-run knock, he also confirmed his top status in the Men’s Test All-rounder table. He is presently rank 16th in the bowler’s standings.

Jadeja and Ashwin also hold the top two slots in the Test all-rounder rankings, while Axar Patel, who hit an important 84 in Nagpur, climbed six spots to eighth.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has also risen two places in the Test Batter rankings, from ninth to eighth. In Nagpur, when the rest of the hitters struggled to establish any momentum, he led the way with 120 off 212. Rohit is only three points behind Rishabh Pant, with no other Indian player ranked among the top 10 Test batters.

Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne and Steven Smith lead the rankings, while a struggling David Warner and Usman Khawaja have dropped. Warner has slipped six places to 20th after scoring 1 and 10 in the Nagpur Test, while Khawaja has dropped two spaces to 10th.
