Quinton De Kock of SA has announced his retirement
On Thursday, Cricket South Africa (CSA) issued a statement in which De Kock announced his decision to retire from Test cricket.
“This is a difficult decision for me to make. I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about my future and what needs to take priority in my life. Now that Sasha and I are about to have our first child and plan to expand our family. My family means everything to me, and I want to have the time and space to be with them as we embark on this new and exciting chapter in our lives “
According to De Kock.
“I enjoy Test cricket and I enjoy representing my country and everything that comes with it.” I’ve enjoyed the ups and downs, the celebrations and even the disappointments. But now I’ve discovered something even better.
“You can buy almost everything in life except time. And right now, it’s time to do the right thing by the people who mean the most to me.”
“I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my Test cricket career. To my coaches, teammates, various management teams, and family and friends, I couldn’t have performed as well as I did without your help.
“This is not the end of my Protea career. I am fully committed to playing white ball cricket, and representing my country to the best of my ability for the foreseeable future.”
