Matthew Wade has joined the Joburg Super Kings for the remainder of the season

Matthew Wade has joined the Joburg Super Kings for the remainder of the season. In the BBL 2022-23, the Australian wicketkeeper-battler scored 307 runs in 12 innings for the Hobart Hurricanes.

On Tuesday, the Joburg Super Kings announced the acquisition of veteran Australian Matthew Wade for the remainder of the SA20 2023 season (January 31). He takes over for Alzarri Joseph, who has joined the West Indies squad for the forthcoming Test series against Zimbabwe, which begins on February 4.

Wade’s acquisition will undoubtedly improve the Super Kings’ chances of qualifying for the knockout rounds. They are presently in fourth place, having won four of their first seven group-stage matches. Donvan Ferreira and Kyle Verreynne have both failed to maintain consistency while wearing the Super Kings’ wicketkeeping gloves thus far.

In the current Big Bash League 2022-23, Wade captained the Hobart Hurricanes. He scored 307 runs in 12 innings, averaging 25.58 and striking out 131.19, but the Hurricanes did not make the playoffs.

Tim David, Ben McDermott, and others joins SA20 2023:

Wade brings experience and finishing ability to the Joburg Super Kings team, who will be striving for maximum points from their last three group-stage fixtures. They are also likely to announce the signing of a replacement for seasoned spinner Aaron Phangiso soon. Phangiso has 10 wickets in six innings in SA20 2023 but has been banned for improper bowling action.

With the BBL coming to an end, many renowned cricketers are joining SA20 2023 for the last games. Tim David, a great Australian big-hitter, and Henry Brookes, a talented English speedster, have both joined MI Cape Town.

Durban Super Giants, who are floundering at the bottom of the SA20 table with only two victories in seven games, have signed Ben McDermott and David Willey as they attempt to rebound after the break. As SA20 2023 returns following a nine-day vacation, they will face MI Cape Town on February 2.
