Litton Das, the captain of Bangladesh, feels enthusiastic about the possibilities before the India series – ‘They don’t think us as underdogs and that is a big thing’. Following Tamim Iqbal’s groin injury, Litton Das has assumed the role of leader.

Litton Das, the interim captain of Bangladesh for the forthcoming three-match ODI series against India, appears highly confident in his team’s prospects to win the series.

Earlier, Litton Das was requested to take over as team captain when Tamim Iqbal, who was scheduled to head the team, was forced to withdraw owing to a groin injury he sustained.

Beginning on Sunday, December 4, the Bangla Tigers will play a three-match One-Day International series. Later in the month, they will play a two-match Test series. The team’s captain Litton noted that they had recently performed well against India and recognized their strength.

“We have been playing very competitive cricket against them in recent times. They don’t think us as underdogs and that is a big thing. Our target will be to play for the win. It is possible to fight against them. We have a good balance in all three departments. India are also a strong side. But you have to admit that we are also a good side in our conditions,”

 Litton said.

Litton Das said “The big brothers will come forward and help me out”

Litton also expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for allowing him to take the team’s captaincy. He considers himself fortunate to be playing with seasoned players like Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur Rahim, and Shakib Al Hasan.

“I am thankful to BCB for giving me the opportunity to lead the side in such a big series. I am excited and will try to showcase my ability. Responsibility is also there when you play only as a player. But there will be an added responsibility to guide the side when you are the skipper,”

Litton added.

“I am really happy that when I got the chance to lead the side, I have got three experienced cricketers who are playing for 15 years. I will definitely want them to support me and I am assured that whenever I will need anything, the big brothers will come forward and help me out,”

He added.
