IPL 2022: Sheldon Jackson of KKR dismiss RCB’s Sherfane Rutherford with a one-handed blinder

IPL 2022: Sheldon Jackson of KKR dismiss RCB’s Sherfane Rutherford with a one-handed blinder. Sherfane Rutherford, a dangerous looking Royal Challengers Bangalore batter. Dismissed by Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper Sheldon Jackson with a screamer behind the stumps.

The ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 may be only 6 days old. The talent on display with the bat, ball, and in the field is something to behold. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) set a similar high standard on the field in match 6 of the IPL 2022. Defending a small total of 128 runs on the board, KKR fielders also were up to the task and provided some much-needed support in the field through their athleticism. Sheldon Jackson, the wicket-keeper batter, was one of those who led from the front.

After a disappointing outing with the bat, Jackson roared back with a brilliant outing with the gloves. He also finished with three catches and one stumping. However, one catch that stood out was also, perhaps, the most important of all.

Moreover, Sherfane Rutherford, who had held the RCB innings together in the run chase, inside-edged a Tim Southee delivery, which was spectacularly caught by Jackson, who had to dive the opposite way.

Even Irfan Pathan tweeted his appreciation for the catch:

Despite performing admirably in the field, KKR ended up on the wrong side of the result, losing by three wickets.

Moreover, David Willey, Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed and Dinesh Karthik played some exceptionally gutsy innings to hold the run-chase together and take the game deep.

Finally, Karthik finished the game in style, hitting Andre Russell for a six followed by a boundary to seal the victory.

The victory moved RCB to sixth place in the points table, while KKR is currently in fifth place.
