IPL 2022: Guyanese spinner Ashmead Nedd will join RCB as a net bowler. Sherfane Rutherford, who is currently a member of the RCB squad, suggested Nedd.

Ashmead Nedd may have been one of the lesser-known names among Indian cricket fans, but he is now getting a lot of attention after joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore camp as a net bowler for the remainder of the IPL 2022 season. It has been revealed that Nedd’s fellow countryman Sherfane Rutherford was instrumental in bringing the left-arm spinner from Guyana into the RCB squad as a net bowler, and this will be a fantastic opportunity for the youngster to shine.

Nedd was a member of West Indies’ U19 World Cup squad in 2018, and since then, he has played seven games in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), picking up three wickets at an impressive economy rate of 5.64. The 21-year-old made his List A debut in 2019 and has 17 wickets at an economy rate of 3.50 in 12 games. Several bowlers who had previously made it to an IPL team as net bowlers had impressed and were subsequently picked up in the squad.

He also stated that he is eager to learn how he can improve his game as a youngster in order to excel at the highest levels. Nedd is scheduled to depart for India on Tuesday, April 12th.
