Told reporters in Sydney, “He brings a lot of respect from the players (and) he has a calm approach.”

“He never appears to be fazed by any situation or result — it’s all about the process and making sure your preparation and attention to detail are flawless.”

“He’s been with the team for a while, so it’s exciting times.”

Finch also stated that Langer had done an excellent job since taking over in the aftermath of the infamous “Sandpaper-gate” ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in 2018.

Finch, on the other hand, agreed with Test captain Pat Cummins, who said on Wednesday that the new coach needed to take a more collaborative approach and seek advice from senior players.

“I think the group is in a much different place than it was four years ago,” he said.
