Gautam Gambhir Explains Lucknow Super Giants’ IPL 2022 Mega Auction Strategy

The Lucknow-based team has already signed KL Rahul as captain and draft picks Marcus Stoinis and Ravi Bishnoi. With so many big names up for grabs in the upcoming auction, Gambhir and the Lucknow Super Giants will be eager to put together the best team possible.

“I think it’s a fantastic opportunity to leave a legacy and create something never done before.” We don’t want to imitate anyone; we need our own template, as well as our own legacy. “And what better time than when you don’t have any baggage,” Gambhir said on his show ‘Backstage with Boria’ with journalist Boria Majumdar.

“Ravi Bishnoi made a lot of sense in that regard as well. He is young, he is a wicket-taker, and he has to be your sure-shot guy in the playing XI; he can bowl at various stages of the game. More importantly, he is also an uncapped player. So, in every way, it made sense for us to bring him on board so that we could develop him in the future “The former Kolkata Knight Riders captain elaborated.

“If he keeps his head on his shoulder, he’ll get better.” Going forward, if you look at the majority of the leg spinners, this is probably the youngest and also the most talented. So, from that perspective, we have both a short-term and long-term strategy. So, hopefully, the journey ahead will be enjoyable.”
