The Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India suffered a nine-run defeat to Australia in the Commonwealth Games gold medal match on Sunday. As a result, the team had to settle for silver. Harmanpreet Kaur admitted to NDTV after the final that the team made the same mistakes they had in previous big tournaments.
“Yes, it is an important moment for all of us. We were participating for the first time, and the way we played this tournament was amazing to watch. Were on the verge of a gold medal, but we made the same mistakes we’ve been making in big tournaments. We need to keep working on our lower-order batting. I am confident that we will do well in the upcoming tournaments. This silver medal means a lot to me; it will undoubtedly inspire young girls back home “Harmanpreet explained.

Tahlia McGrath of Australia tested positive for COVID-19 before the CWG gold medal match, but she was allowed to compete.
“They did inform us prior to the toss that it was something beyond our control. We went with the sportsmanspirit because she wasn’t that sick, we did what we had to do because it was out of our hands “said India’s captain.
When asked about the Women’s IPL, Harmanpreet replied, ” “These issues have been discussed for quite some time. It would be fantastic if we could obtain the platform.”
Australia captain Meg Lanning chose to bat first and posted 161/8 thanks to Mooney’s 61-run knock. Renuka Singh and Sneh Rana both took two wickets for India.
