Delhi Capitals Squad & Player List for the WPL 2023. To improve their team ahead of the Women’s Premier League, the Delhi Capitals signed a slew of famous names, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Meg Lanning, and Shafali Verma.
The Delhi Capitals had a lackluster start to the first Women’s Premier League (WPL) auction, as the team did not acquire any players for the rest of the first round. The Delhi-based team, on the other hand, went big in the second round, bringing in Jemimah Rodrigues, Meg Lanning, and Shafali Verma.
Rodrigues expect to be one of the auction’s major stars, and the price she brought in warrant that. Shafali Verma, captain of the Indian U-19 squad, will also be a significant addition to the Delhi Capitals. Despite a difficult start, DC gradually found their stride and lured in a very good collection of players by taking a highly methodical approach at the auction.
After acquiring Shafali Verma, DC pursued Radha Yadav, who sign for 40 lakhs. Following her arrival, Shikha Pandey and Marizanne Kapp were brought in for 60 lakh and 1.5 crore, respectively. In yet another tactical move, the Delhi Capitals signed 18-year-old Titas Sadhu for 25 lakhs to enhance their roster even more.

Delhi Capitals went in for many big names as well
Despite having Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues on their team. The Delhi Capitals bid on a number of players but were unable to sign them. DC interested in Harmanpreet Kaur, Ellyse Perry, and Deepti Sharma, but the Delhi-based club simply outbid.
The squad played their cards extremely strategically, focusing on younger players rather than going for the big stars. Tara Norris, a 24-year-old American star on the home circuit, may be one such name. DC will be aiming for a repeat of her domestic form in the WPL.
