Chris Gayle, not Murali or Narine, claims to be the “Greatest Off-Spinner of All Time.” Chris Gayle praised his bowling abilities and even referred to himself as the “greatest off-spinner.”

Chris Gayle, the West Indies batter, will turn 43 next month, but it appears that the ‘Universe Boss’ has no plans to retire from the sport. Gayle, the leading T20 scorer with 14,562 runs, is currently preparing for the upcoming ‘6ixty,’ a new franchise-based 60-ball cricket tournament in the Caribbean Islands that begins later on Wednesday. While everyone is excited to see him bat again, Gayle praised his bowling abilities, even calling himself the “greatest off-spinner” in the game.

Chris Gayle: “Greatest Off-Spinner of All Time.”

“You know what? My bowling is natural. Definitely, I have to bowl. Murali (Muttiah Muralitharan) won’t contest that. I have the best economy, not even Sunil Narine can come close to that,” Gayle told ESPNcricinfo.

Speaking further about ‘6ixty,’ he expressed his excitement at returning to the cricket field with a new format.

“I’m really excited to be back in the field. I missed it. I’m like a kid again, looking forward to the first game… For my debut,” he said. “I’ll have to get back in shape. I’m still in shape, but just a little prep here and there to get in that mindset of playing cricket.”

Gayle last appeared for the West Indies at the T20 World Cup in the UAE last year.

Six men’s teams and three women’s teams will compete in the inaugural edition of ‘6ixty.’

Gayle, 42, will serve as an ambassador for the 6ixty.
