Aakash Chopra names his ideal India squad for the 2022 Asia Cup.

Aakash Chopra names his ideal India squad for the 2022 Asia Cup. Chopra stated that he would prefer Deepak Hooda over Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson for the team.

The cricketer–commentator believes that now that KL Rahul is fit and ready to play. He should open alongside skipper Rohit Sharma. Rahul has been out of the picture for some time, but Chopra believes he should lead India’s batting lineup now that Ishan Kishan has been sidelined.

The prestigious continental competition is set to begin on August 27 and will last until September 11. The Indian selectors will look to prepare a strong squad for the Asia Cup, with the possibility of a similar group competing in the T20 World Cup later this year. The first match between India and Pakistan is schedule for August 28.

“If KL Rahul is available, he will open. ” So Rahul and Rohit – simple and straightforward, but this is the same Rahul and Rohit who required Ishan Kishan in the previous World Cup. “After that, you made Ishan open a lot, he made a lot of runs, but when you were getting close to the selection, you put him in cold storage,” Chopra said in a YouTube video.

“So my 15-man squad will consist of Rahul, Rohit, and Virat Kohli at three.” Suryakumar Yadav, No. 4, please come at his original number. Hardik Pandya rank fifth, followed by Rishabh Pant. There will be a shootout between him and Dinesh Karthik, but both will be on the team. Pant’s name is at No. 6, but that is not his batting order. “I then wrote Hooda’s name,” Chopra continued.

Only one of Hooda, Shreyas, or Sanju Samson may be chosen: Aakash Chopra

Chopra believes that Deepak Hooda should be chosen as the team’s additional batter over Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson. With so many batting options available, the Indian selectors would undoubtedly struggle to make a decision. Chopra has chosen three spinners for his team: Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Yuzvendra Chahal. As his four-seamers, he chose Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and Arshdeep Singh.

“Only one of Hooda, Shreyas, or Sanju Samson can be chosen.” Deepak Hooda, in my opinion, because the skill set he brings is unique, and he also bowls off-spin. Then came Jadeja, Ashwin, and Chahal. Jaddu and Chahal will bat, and if you’ve included Ashwin so late, you’ll want to keep him. “Kuldeep, Ravi Bishnoi, and Axar Patel all have compelling cases, so there may be some uproar,” Chopra added.

“There is no doubt about it, Bumrah and Bhuvi.” Assuming Harshal Patel is unavailable, I’ll go with Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, and Dinesh Karthik. If India allow to select a 16th player, I believe it will be Axar Patel because Jaddu’s fitness is in doubt,” he conclude.
